Description:
shinnai has discovered some vulnerabilities in the nvUtility.Utility and the nvUnifiedControl.AUnifiedControl ActiveX controls, which can be exploited by malicious people to manipulate data or compromise a user's system.

1) The "DeleteXMLFile()" method of the nvUtility.Utility ActiveX control (nvUtility.dll) allows attackers to delete arbitrary files on a user's system by e.g. tricking a user into visiting a malicious website.

2) The "SaveXMLFile()" method of the nvUtility.Utility ActiveX control (nvUtility.dll) allows attackers to write data into arbitrary files. This can be exploited to e.g. create a malicious batch file in the Windows autostart folder by tricking a user into visiting a malicious website.

3) A boundary error exists within the "SetText()" method within the nvUnifiedControl.AUnifiedControl ActiveX control (nvUnifiedControl.dll). This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into visiting a malicious website.

Successful exploitation may allow the execution of arbitrary code.

Vulnerability #1 and #2 are confirmed in version 1.0.14.0 of the nvUtility.Utility ActiveX control and vulnerability #3 is confirmed in version 1.145.0 of the nvUnifiedControl.AUnifiedControl ActiveX control as included in Network Video Recorder SP2 version 2.0.30.
