Description:
Luigi Auriemma has reported some vulnerabilities in Alien Arena 2007, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct DoS (Denial of Service) attacks or to potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A format string error exists within the processing of connected nicknames in the Alien Arena 2007 server. This can be exploited to crash the server and potentially to execute arbitrary code by connecting to the affected server using a specially crafted nickname.

Successful exploitation requires that Alien Arena 2007 is running as a dedicated server.

2) An error exists in the client when processing of "client_connect" commands. This can be exploited to disconnect affected clients by sending a specially crafted "client_connect" command with the source address equal to the address of the game server.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions 6.05 and 6.10. Other versions may also be affected.
