Beskrivelse:
Slythers Bro har fundet et sikkerhedsproblem i imageop-modulet for Python, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at udføre et DoS (Denial of Service) og potentielt kompromittere et sårbart system.

Problemet skyldes et heltals-overflow i funktionen "tovideo()" og kan udnyttes til at forårsage et heap-baseret buffer overflow, når specielt udformede parametre suppleres til funktionen.

Succesfuld udnyttelse kan muliggøre eksekvering af vilkårlig kode.

Sikkerhedsproblemet er bekræftet i Python 2.5.1, men andre versioner kan også være berørte.

Løsning:
Benyt kun imageop "tovideo()" funktionen til at behandle data, der haves tillid til.
