Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Xitami, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A boundary error exists in the processing HTTP requests. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted HTTP request containing an overly long "If-Modified-Since" header.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

2) A format string error exists in the processing of requested SSI URLs. This can be exploited via a specially crafted HTTP request to port 80/TCP by default.

3) A format string error exists in the processing of LRWP (Long Running Web Process) requests. This can be exploited via a specially crafted request sent to port 81/TCP by default.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.5c2. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Restrict access to the web server.

Use another product.
