Description: A vulnerability has been reported in SmbFTPD, which potentially can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error within the "SMBDirList()" function in dirlist.c. This can potentially be exploited to execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted directory name.
Successful exploitation may require that the attacker is able to create specially crafted directory names.
The vulnerability is reported in version 0.96. Prior versions may also be affected.
