Description:
Sun has acknowledged a vulnerability in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an integer signedness error within the handler for the I_PEEK IOCTL. This can be exploited to read memory of the kernel or other processes by passing a negative number as the amount of bytes to peek in the I_PEEK IOCTL.

The vulnerability is reported in Sun Solaris 8, 9, and 10 for both x86 and SPARC platforms.
