Description:
Stefan Monnier has reported a vulnerability in Tramp, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to Tramp creating temporary files insecurely (e.g. within the "tramp-make-tramp-temp-file" function). This can be exploited to e.g. overwrite arbitrary files via symlink attacks.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 2.1.11.
