Description:
L4teral has discovered some vulnerabilities in ILIAS, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed when sending mails or creating forum messages is not properly sanitised before being stored. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML attributes to "a" HTML elements, which is executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed.

Successful exploitation requires that both the attacker and the target user has valid user credentials. Exploitation without any user interaction requires that the target user uses Internet Explorer.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 3.8.3. Other versions may also be affected.
