Description: Red Hat has issued an update for pam. This fixes a vulnerability and a security issue, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to disclose sensitive information and by malicious users to inject certain data.
1) An error exists in pam_console when setting console device permissions. This can lead to various console devices retaining ownership of the console user after logging out and may allow the disclosure of sensitive information to another local user.
2) An error within the "linux_audit_record_event()" function can be exploited to inject invalid character sequences into log entries via a specially crafted account name.
