Description:
A security issue has been discovered in Hugin, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated privileges.

The security issue is caused due to the Hugin optimizer creating the temporary file "hugin_debug_optim_results.txt" insecurely. This can be exploited to e.g. overwrite arbitrary files with the privileges of the user running Hugin via symlink attacks.

Note: This may only affect UNIX or Linux platforms.

The security issue is confirmed in version 1.6.1 on a Linux system. Other versions may also be affected.
