Description: A vulnerability has been reported in WinPcap, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an array indexing error within the bpf_filter_init function and can be exploited to cause a memory corruption via specially-crafted IOCTL requests.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with kernel privileges.
The vulnerability is reported in version 4.0.1 included in Wireshark version 0.99.6a. Prior versions may also be affected.
