Description:
Gentoo has issued an update for cpio. This fixes a vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing specially crafted tar archives and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow and crash the vulnerable application.

Solution:
Update to "app-arch/cpio-2.9-r1" or later.
