Description:
Liz0ziM has discovered two vulnerabilities in Sciurus Hosting Panel, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions and to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) The acp/savenews.php script does not restrict access to logged in users and can be exploited to change the news without valid user credentials.

2) Input passed to the "filecontents" parameter in acp/savenews.php is not properly sanitised before being saved in includes/news.php. This can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.04 downloaded before 2007-11-20 and all previous 2.x versions. Other versions may also be affected.
