Beskrivelse:
Secunia Research har fundet en sårbarhed i Samba, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere et sårbart system.

Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer i funktionen "send_mailslot()". Dette kan udnyttes til at forårsage et stack-baseret buffer overflow med NULL-bytes via en specielt udformet "SAMLOGON" domæne logon-pakke indeholdende en brugernavn-streng placeret i et ulige offset efterfulgt at en lang GETDC-streng.

Succesfuld udnyttelse muliggør eksekvering af vilkårlig kode, men forudsætter, at "domain logons" indstillingen er aktiveret.

Sårbarheden er bekræftet i version 3.0.27a, men tidligere versioner kan også være berørte.

Løsning:
Opdatér til version 3.0.28, eller installér patch.
