Beschreibung:
Paul Kurczaba hat eine Sicherheitslücke in Novell iPrint Client entdeckt, die böswillige Personen ausnutzen können, um das System eines Benutzers zu kompromittieren.

Die Sicherheitslücke besteht in einem Begrenzungsfehler in der Novell iPrint Control ActiveX-Komponente (ienipp.ocx) bei der Verarbeitung der Methode "ExecuteRequest()". Dieser kann ausgenutzt werden, um einen Stack-basierten Pufferüberlauf zu verursachen, indem man ein überlanges Argument (mehr als 256 Bytes) an die betroffene Methode übergibt.

Eine erfolgreiche Ausnutzung ermöglicht die Ausführung von beliebigem Code.

Die Sicherheitslücke wurde in Versionen 4.26 und 4.32 bestätigt. Andere Versionen können ebenfalls betroffen sein.

Lösung:
Aktualisieren Sie auf Version 4.34.
