Beskrivelse:
SYS 49152 har fundet nogle sårbarheder i 3ivx MPEG-4, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere en brugers system.

Sårbarhederne skyldes ikke-kontrollerede buffere i 3ivxDSMediaSplitter.ax under håndteringen af visse atomer ("©art", "©nam", "©cmt", "©des" og "©cpy") i MP4-filer og kan udnyttes til at forårsage stack-baserede buffer overflows via en specielt udformet MP4-fil.

Succesfuld udnyttelse muliggør eksekvering af vilkårlig kode.

Sårbarhederne er bekræftet i version 5.0.1 med følgende applikationer som angrebsvektor:
* Windows Media Player version 6.4.09.1130 (mplayer2.exe)
* Media Player Classic version 6.4.9.0

Andre versioner og applikationer kan også være berørte.

Løsning:
Opdatér til version 5.0.2.
