Description: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in the mod_imap and mod_status modules for Apache, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Certain unspecified input passed to the "mod_imap" module is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that "mod_imap" is enabled and a mapfile is publicly accessible.
2) Input passed via the "refresh" parameter to the "mod_status" module is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that "mod_status" is enabled and that the status pages are publicly accessible.
The vulnerabilities are reported in versions 2.0.61, 2.0.59, 2.0.58, 2.0.55, 2.0.54, 2.0.53, 2.0.52, 2.0.51, 2.0.50, 2.0.49, 2.0.48, 2.0.47, 2.0.46, 2.0.45, 2.0.44, 2.0.43, 2.0.42, 2.0.40, 2.0.39, 2.0.37, 2.0.36, and 2.0.35.
NOTE: An error in the "mod_proxy_ftp" module when a forward proxy is configured has also been reported. This can potentially be exploited to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
