Beschreibung:
Francisco Amato hat eine Sicherheitslücke in Novell GroupWise Client gemeldet, die böswillige Personen ausnutzen können, um das System eines Benutzers zu kompromittieren.

Die Sicherheitslücke wird durch einen Begrenzungsfehler in der Verarbeitung von E-Mail-Nachrichten verursacht. Dies kann durch eine speziell präparierte E-Mail mit einem überlangen SRC-Parameter in dem IMG-Tag ausgenutzt werden, um einen Stack-basierten Pufferüberlauf zu verursachen.

Eine erfolgreiche Ausnutzung setzt voraus, dass die HTML-Vorschau aktiviert ist und der Zielbenutzer die E-Mail beantwortet oder weiterleitet.

Die Sicherheitslücke betrifft GroupWise 6.5 SP6 Windows Client.
