Beschreibung:
Secunia Research hat eine Sicherheitslücke in Orb entdeckt, die böswillige Personen ausnutzen können, um das System eines Benutzers zu kompromittieren.

Die Sicherheitslücke besteht in einem Integer-Überlauf-Fehler bei der Verarbeitung der Dimensionen in einem Array von Variant-Typen, das als Teil einer RPC-Anfrage empfangen wurde. Dieser kann ausgenutzt werden, um einen Heap-basierten Pufferüberlauf zu verursachen, indem man eine übergroße Anzahl an Array-Dimensionen spezifiziert.

Eine erfolgreiche Ausnutzung ermöglicht die Ausführung von beliebigem Code.

Die Sicherheitslücke wurde in Version 2.00.1014 bestätigt. Andere Versionen können ebenfalls betroffen sein.
