Description: Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in Zoom Player, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when creating error messages for files that cannot be played. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via e.g. a specially crafted ZPL file containing an HTTP link to a file with an overly long filename and a PLS file extension.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 5.0.0.0 Standard and also reported in version 6.00 beta 2. Other versions may also be affected.
