Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Ada Image Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks or gain knowledge of sensitive information.

1) Input passed in the URL is not properly sanitised before being returned in certain error messages. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when following a specially crafted link.

Example:
http://[host]:1235/../[code]

2) An input validation error can be exploited to access directories outside the web root via either the classic "../" directory traversal character sequence or the URL encoded representation by prepending almost any character or character sequence to the requested resource.

Example:
GET test../../../../boot.ini HTTP/1.0

3) Input passed to the "template" parameter is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to download arbitrary files from affected systems via directory traversal attacks.

Example:
http://[host]:1235/template?..\..\..\..\boot.ini

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.6.21. Other versions may also be affected.
