Description:
David G.M. has discovered a vulnerability in Total Player, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when constructing an absolute path to a file referenced within an M3U playlist. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long string in a playlist file.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.0.0.0. Other versions may also be affected.
