Description

Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in RunCms, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting, cross-site request forgery, and SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed in the "Client-IP" HTTP header to modules/newbb_plus/index.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) A vulnerability is caused due to the application allowing users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the request. This can be exploited to e.g. create new users with webmaster rank, by enticing a logged-in administrator to visit a malicious site.

3) Input passed to the "rank_title" parameter in modules/system/admin.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that the victim has valid administrator credentials.

4) Input passed to the "msg_image" and "msg_attachment" parameters in modules/messages/class/pm.class.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.6.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised. Do not browse untrusted websites or follow untrusted links while logged on to the application.
