Description: Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in xine-lib, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to multiple boundary errors within the "rmff_dump_cont()", "rmff_dump_mdpr()" and "rmff_dump_header()" functions in input/libreal/rmff.c when processing SDP attributes. These can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via RTSP streams containing specially crafted "Title", "Author", Copyright", "Abstract", "StreamName", "mimetype" and "OpaqueData" SDP attributes.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.1.9. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 1.1.9.1.
Provided and/or discovered by: Luigi Auriemma. Additional information provided by Secunia Research.
