Beskrivelse:
Luigi Auriemma har rapporteret en sårbarhed i Apple QuickTime, som potentielt kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere en brugers system.

Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer under håndteringen af RTSP-besvarelser og kan udnyttes til at forårsage et buffer overflow via f.eks. en specielt udformet besvarelse indholdende en lang "Reason-Phrase".

Succesfuld udnyttelse kan muliggøre eksekvere vilkårlig kode, men forudsætter, at en bruger f.eks. lokkes til at åbne en ondsindet QTL-fil eller besøge et ondsindet website.

Sårbarheden er rapporteret i version 7.3.1.70, men andre versioner kan også være berørte.
