Description:
AmnPardaz Security Research Team have discovered some vulnerabilities and a weakness in Mambo, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose system information, conduct cross-site scripting and cross-site request forgery attacks, and to manipulate data.

1) Input passed to the "file[NewFile][tmp_name]" parameter in mambots/editors/mostlyce/jscripts/tiny_mce/filemanager/connectors/php/connector.php is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to delete arbitrary files, e.g. configuration.php.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that the Image Manager part of MOStlyCE has been installed by unpacking the UserFiles.zip archive in the web root.

2) A vulnerability is caused due to the application allowing users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the request. This can be exploited to create new administrators, e.g. when a user visits a malicious site.

3) Input passed to the "Command" parameter in mambots/editors/mostlyce/jscripts/tiny_mce/filemanager/connectors/php/connector.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

4) A weakness is caused due to the full script path being disclosed in error messages in the mambots/editors/mostlyce/jscripts/tiny_mce/filemanager/connectors/php/connector.php script.

The vulnerabilities and the weakness are confirmed in version 4.6.3 with the SearchPatch installed. Other versions may also be affected.
