Description: A security issue has been reported in the Linux Kernel, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The security is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference in arch/powerpc/platforms/chrp/setup.c, which can be exploited to crash a vulnerable system.
Successful exploitation requires certain PowerPC hardware.
Solution: Restrict access to trusted users only.
