Description:
Gentoo has acknowledged a vulnerability in netkit-ftpd, which can be exploited by malicious users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within ftpd.c when using the "fclose()" function on an uninitialised stream, which can be exploited to crash a vulnerable server by sending specially crafted FTP commands and data.

Solution:
Update to "net-ftp/netkit-ftpd-0.17-r7" or later.
