Description:
Elazar Broad has discovered a vulnerability in Aurigma Image Uploader, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the Aurigma.ImageUploader.4.1 ActiveX control (ImageUploader4.ocx) when handling strings assigned to the "Action" property. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by assigning an overly long string to the affected property.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in ImageUploader4.ocx version 4.5.70.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Upgrade to version 5.0 or update to version 4.6 or later:
http://www.aurigma.com/Download/ImageUploader_4.6.zip

Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
