Description:
securfrog has discovered a vulnerability in Titan FTP Server, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the FTP service and administration services when processing commands and can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via an overly long command.

Successful exploitation causes the service to stop responding and may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability may be related to:
SA12419

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 6.0.5.549. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Restrict access to the FTP service (default port 21/TCP) and the administration services (default ports 31000/TCP and 31001/TCP).
