Description:
Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in Sybase MobiLink, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the MobiLink server (mlsrv10.exe) and can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted packet containing e.g. an overly long username to the service (by default port 2439/TCP).

The vulnerability is confirmed in Mobilink server version 10.0.1.3415 included in SQL Anywhere Developer Edition 10.0.1.3415. Other versions may also be affected.
