Description:
rgod has discovered a vulnerability in D-Link MPEG4 SHM (Audio) Control, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the VAPgDecoder.VaPgCtrl.1 ActiveX control (VAPGDecoder.dll) when handling strings assigned to the "Url" property. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by assigning an overly long string to the affected property.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in VAPGDecoder.dll version 1.7.0.5. Other versions may also be affected.
