Description: Lovebug has reported a vulnerability in the Hadith module for PHP-Nuke, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "cat" parameter in the PHP-Nuke installation's modules.php script (when "name" is set to "Hadith" and "action" to "viewcat") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation allows e.g. retrieving administrator usernames and password hashes.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Provided and/or discovered by: Lovebug
Changelog: 2008-03-19: Added CVE reference.
