Description:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Plone, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery attacks.

The vulnerability is caused due to the application allowing users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the request. This can be exploited to create new users or change privileges given to various groups by tricking an administrator into opening a malicious web page.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.0.6 and reported in all previous versions.

Solution:
Apply hotfix or upgrade to version 3.1 or later.

Apply Plone Hotfix CVE-2008-0164.

Plone 2.x/1.0:
The vendor recommends upgrading to the latest versions.
