Description

Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Gallarific, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and script insertion attacks, bypass certain security restrictions, and conduct SQL injection attacks, or by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.

1) Input passed to the "query" parameter in search.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries or returned to a user. This can be exploited to modify SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code or execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

2) Input passed to the "gusername" and "gpassword" parameters in login.php and to the "username" and "password" parameter in gadmin/index.php (if "task" is set to "signin") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

3) Various scripts (e.g. gadmin/users.php, gadmin/photos.php, gadmin/comments.php, and gadmin/gallery.php) do not perform proper authentication checks. This can be exploited to bypass the login mechanism and e.g. edit comments, users, and galleries.

4) Input passed to the "tag" parameter in tags.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

5) Input passed via the "Name" field when submitting a comment is not properly sanitised before being stored. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in the administrator's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious comment is viewed.

6) Input passed via the email address in a user's profile is not properly sanitised before being stored. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in the administrator's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious profile is viewed.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability requires valid user credentials.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in Gallarific Free Edition 1.1. Other versions may also be affected.
