Description: Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in ASUS Remote Console, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the ASUS DPC Proxy service (DpcProxy.exe) and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. sending an overly long string to default port 623/TCP.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.0.0.19 and reported in version 2.0.0.24. Other versions may also be affected.
