Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Exponent CMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed to the username, firstname, lastname, and e-mail address fields when creating a new account is not properly sanitised before being stored. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed.

Successful exploitation requires that the "Allow Registration?" configuration option is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 0.96.6-GA20071003 and reported in all previous versions.
