Less critical
Impact: Cross Site Scripting
Where: From remote
Solution Status: Unpatched

Software:EsContacts 1.x

CVE reference:CVE-2008-2037 (Secunia mirror)

This advisory is currently marked as unpatched!
- Companies can be alerted when a patch is released!

Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in EsContacts, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the "msg" parameter in add_groupe.php, contacts.php, groupes.php, importer.php, login.php, and search.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation of the scripts except for login.php requires that the target user has valid user credentials.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.

Provided and/or discovered by:
ZoRLu
