A vulnerability and a security issue have been discovered in BlogWorx, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks and disclose sensitive information.

1) Input passed to the "id" parameter in view.asp is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) The security issue is caused due to the e.g. users.mdb database file being stored with insecure permissions inside the web root. This can be exploited to disclose e.g. the administrator's password by downloading the file.

The vulnerability and the security issue are confirmed in version 1.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
