Description:
Hanno Böck has reported a vulnerability in Serendipity, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.

Input passed via the "Referer" HTTP header is not properly sanitised before being saved. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed via the Top Referrers plugin.

Successful exploitation requires that the Top Referrers plugin is enabled.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 1.3.1.
