Description: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerabilities are caused due to errors in the implementation of the SCTP protocol. These can be exploited hang an affected system, cause a system panic, or cause excessive network traffic via specially crafted SCTP packets.
Note: This only affects systems with SCTP sockets in "LISTEN" state.
The vulnerabilities are reported in Solaris 10 for both the SPARC and x86 platforms.
