InjEctOr has reported some vulnerabilities in cpLinks, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "admin_username" parameter in admin/index.php, and to the "search_text" and "search_category" parameters in search.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation allows to gain access to the administration section, but requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
2) Input passed to the "search_text" and "search_category" parameters in search.php is also not properly sanitised before being returned to the user in an SQL error. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 1.03. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
