Description:
A security issue has been reported in HP-UX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to bypass certain security restrictions.

The security issue is caused due to an unspecified error within the useradd command, which can be exploited to gain access to restricted files and folders.

The security issue is reported in useradd for HP-UX B.11.11, B.11.23, and B.11.31.

Solution:
Apply patches.

HP-UX B.11.11:
Apply patch PHCO_37290 or subsequent

HP-UX B.11.23:
Apply patch PHCO_37291 or subsequent

HP-UX B.11.31:
Apply patch PHCO_36953 or subsequent

Manually check user accounts for correct GROUPID and HOMEDIR settings.
