Description: A vulnerability has been reported in some Kaspersky products, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the kl1.sys driver when handling IOCTL 0x800520e8. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.
The vulnerability is reported in the following versions:
* Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 and 7.0
* Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 and 7.0
* Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations
Solution: A patch is available via the built-in automatic updating module.
