A vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Windows, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) when handling data structures in a WINS packet. This can be exploited to overwrite memory via a specially crafted WINS packet.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
