Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Todd Woolums ASP News Management, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive information and conduct SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "newsID" parameter in viewnews.asp is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
2) The application does not properly restrict access to the "rss.asp", "viewheadings.asp", and "viewnews.asp" scripts, which can be exploited to disclose potentially sensitive news by accessing the scripts directly.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and unauthorised access is properly restricted.
