Description:
Eduardo Neves has discovered a vulnerability in GlassFish, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed via the "name" parameter to the configuration/httpListenerEdit.jsf script from the administration console is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerability is confirmed in GlassFish version 2 UR2 b04 and Sun Java System Application Server 9.1_02 build b04-fcs. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a proxy.
