AmnPardaz Security Research Team has reported some vulnerabilities in Absolute Banner Manager XE, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "text" parameter in searchbanners.asp and listadvertisers.asp is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

2) Input passed to the "orderby" parameter in searchbanners.asp is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation requires valid administrator credentials.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 2.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a proxy.
