AmnPardaz Security Research Team has reported some vulnerabilities in Absolute News Manager XE, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "pblname" and "text" parameters in search.asp and to the "name" parameter in publishers.asp is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
NOTE: Other parameters in other scripts may also be affected by similar vulnerabilities.
2) Input passed to the "orderby" parameter in search.asp is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
