|
Description: Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Mambo, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "mosConfig_absolute_path" parameter in includes/Cache/Lite/Output.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local or external resources.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires that "register_globals" is enabled, which is not the setting recommended by the installer.
2) Input passed to an unspecified parameter in includes/core.classes.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 4.6.4 and all previous 4.6.x versions.
Solution: Update to version 4.6.5.
Provided and/or discovered by: 1) irk4z and ZonaNet
2) The vendor credits George, tenablesecurity.com.
